»What I really like is the freedom I have for doing my tasks. It allows me to bring in my own creativity and thinking which makes the job a lot of fun to me.«
Since when have you been with Finatycs?
I have been with Finatycs since September 2023.
What is your current position?
My current position is kind of a 50/50 split. I work in PMO as well as the analytics team.
What did you study?
I did my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. Later, I wanted to switch to roles with a stronger management focus, so I did my Master's in International Business and Engineering.
So you mentioned already you currently work in two areas, how come?
I started as a Jr. Project Manager at Finatycs. Coincidently there was an SAC Project when I joined. I already learned to work with SAC during my Master's, so when I had the opportunity to expand my skillset I took it.
What are your current tasks?
For the PM side, I am doing classic activities like planning, time management, and stakeholder communication. For the analytics part, my role includes deciding how to gather and present data to create an accurate picture for our clients.
Describe Finatycs in one sentence.
Um….I would say its an extremely flexible and dynamic work environment… Well yes, that’s one sentence that fits (smiles).
What projects or tasks have you had in the last 6months?
In the last 6 months, the analytics part has definitely grown as there is high demand on the client side and new projects have started. So most of the time I am busy with building the right strategy, creating data models, and displaying data, apart from that I am currently working on a new SAC solution, that will improve reporting and financial planning processes for our clients.
What do you like best about your current role at Finatycs?
I have to say I do like both topics so it is hard for me to pin it down. But I what I really appreciate is the freedom I have for doing my tasks. It allows me to use my own creativity and thinking which makes the job a lot of fun.
Do you have opportunities for further development at Finatycs?
Definitely! I would say 100% I could not have imagined at the beginning to have the opportunity to work on so many diverse topics and various areas.
How do you feel about the feedback culture at Finatycs?
The Feedback culture is pretty open, which I love. It is also not like a yearly performance review or feedback meeting but rather you get feedback or help when you are performing on tasks. The managers are always happy and fast to give you Feedback which helps to advance at work and determine what solution is the fastest.

»At Finatycs I have the opportunity to reconcile my working hours with my family commitments. «
When did you join Finatycs?
In January 2022
What is your current position at Finatycs?
At the moment I am a Senior Consultant. My responsibilities on projects cover various areas related to accounting, such as process optimization and accounts receivable bookings.
How does your day-to-day work look like?
I usually start my week by going through the most important tasks for the week and start prioritizing them. During the week, there are often ad hoc requests from clients, which of course have priority. This creates a varied working day. Due to the opportunity to organize my time myself, these tasks can be easily reconciled with the topics I have already planned.
Where do you work from?
From home, the 2nd floor, in the kids room (laughing).
Which projects are you working on?
Mostly on process optimization projects. For example, topics like billing procedures in e-commerce, accounts payable for consolidated companies and document management system (DMS) implementations, meaning the rationalization and automation of accounts payable. Sometimes I also support sub-projects for clients, if necessary.
What do you value about working at Finatycs?
Most of all, the flexibility and freedom to organize my own working hours, as well as the opportunity to work from home. I used to be in the office for 7-8 hours which often made it difficult, especially when the kids had afternoon activities or a doctor's appointment. At Finatycs I have the opportunity to balance my working hours and family commitments. It is very important to me that I can be a mother alongside my professional career.
How would you describe the company culture?
Friendly and challenging. The atmosphere is very friendly, and we support but also motivate each other. Our regular on-site days in Berlin and internal training sessions help to build a good relationship with the team and exchange knowledge. When you see what other colleagues can do, you are inspired to learn new things. In the end, everyone works together, and you have the feeling of being part of a team.
What is particularly important to you at work?
Education & development. I think it's important that I can develop and grow professionally. I also think it is important to make a difference at work. You create additional value and can feel the impact of your work at the end of the day.
Do you have the opportunity to develop your career at Finatycs? What was the last development?
Yes! There are always new possibilities coming up. Naturally, I learn through trainings and workshops. For example, I did a leadership and SAP self-learning training recently. In addition, I always learn a lot on projects, as I can see how theoretical subjects are implemented in practice. My job at Finatycs is to find the optimal solution on projects, so I quickly learn new methods and techniques.
Do you have the freedom to shape your own work-life balance at Finatycs?
I am still learning that (laughing). I often put a bit too much pressure on myself because I like to devote the maximum amount of attention to my topics, but of course I cannot do everything at once and I also have other tasks in addition to my job. But as I can organize my tasks myself, I am getting better at it. I also get enough support from my supervisors and my team, which helps as well. In the end, I never have the feeling that I am not getting my work done or that I am neglecting my tasks.

Daily. *grinning*. Originally, the consultant was born in a suit. Nowadays, it depends a lot on the client. At established companies, I still wear a suit, but at newer companies, I would stand out if I showed up in a suit. However, you get the client vibe quite quickly and adapt accordingly.

In addition, the projects are very diverse in terms of clients and project types, which means there is a steep learning curve. Lastly, relaxed colleagues, a young team, everyone is down to grab a beer and the feedback culture is great.

Frequently asked questions
about the career at Finatycs.
The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly changed the world of work and working methods, which has also impacted the consulting industry. Of course, travel depends a lot on our clients’ expectations, but we are noticing a significant decrease in the amount of traveling involved in our work. This changed way of working is also reflected at Finatycs, where we give you the freedom to decide if you prefer to work remotely or in the office. However, in order to see each other in person as a team on a regular basis, we are sure to meet in the office two to three days a month and also use this time to undertake joint activities at regular intervals.
Especially with young professionals, we work together to find the right focus area over the first few weeks. To enable both you and us to recognize your strengths and work out which topics you enjoy, the topics are rotate more frequently at the beginning. To expand our spectrum and share our knowledge, we attach great importance to our colleagues being deployed for as many diverse topics and activities as possible. In addition, our projects constantly change along with our clients’ requirements – and that alone gives us a flexible focus.
All of our consultants represent an individual triad of business expertise, technical know-how and methodological skills. Business consultants are not asked to program but rather to prepare problems and recommendations for solutions in such a way that a developer is able to continue the work. As a result, a basic understanding of IT logic is necessary, but over time, our business consultants gain their own familiarity with the systems that we frequently work with. The programming itself, however, is left to the developers, unless you want to develop your skills and knowledge in this area, in which case we are, of course, happy to support you.
No two projects are the same, and our project timelines range from around eight weeks to several years (for large transformation projects). However, for extremely long-running projects, we use a rotation-based system to keep our minds and approaches fresh. What’s more, nobody has to work on the same project for more than a year if they don’t want to. Around two to three consultants are involved in our smaller projects and up to ten in our largest projects.
We make possible whatever is within our control. As a result, we are very flexible when it comes to planning your life.
We are all consultants who work on projects at different seniority levels depending on our role and the subject area of the project. We have clear career stages: Junior Consultant – Senior Consultant – Manager – Senior Manager – Director We evaluate your development regularly and help you to climb to the next stage as soon as you are ready.
In such cases, we provide our employees with individual support to suit their needs. There is no fixed model because every situation in life is unique: sometimes, free time is important and at other times, the cost of further education plays a decisive role. Be it training en bloc or one day a week over a longer period of time, there are reasons for both models. We are united by our desire to improve, and we are happy to support you in fulfilling this desire.
We encourage and challenge you from day one and support you in your methodical and professional development. We expect every member of our team to also work on their personal development. As a consultant at Finatycs, you therefore start with a supporting role in a project before gradually being given responsibility for your own subject areas and thus increasingly developing your skills and expertise over time.
As a beginner, you will get started quickly: you will receive your work equipment (smartphone, laptop and access authorization) on the first day. Your project assignment will usually begin during this period too. We believe that nothing can replace practical experience, which is why you will work with experts on activities that generate value right from the start.
That depends on the project. Our normal working hours match regular business hours. Although they may deviate from ‘9 to 5’ during project peaks, they do not involve night and weekend shifts.
